Meet the Olympian
We are rescheduling our Meet the Olympian for another time during practice where we will have David Neville coming out to meet and inspire the kids. We will let you know when that will happen via our newsletter.

David Neville was the 400 meter bronze medalist and a gold medalist as a member for the 4x400 meter relay team that set an Olympic record in the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing

More About David
In the 2008 Olympic 400m final, out of Lane nine, he physically dove across the finish line with a time of 44.80 seconds, holding off Bahamian Chris Brown who placed fourth in 44.84. "Sometimes we have to sacrifice our bodies, our minds, our spirits," Neville said after the race. "That's what I did. I knew I had to dive." In the same Olympic Games, he captured gold as a member of the 4x400m relay team. Neville ran the third leg with a split of 44.16 helping the relay team set the Olympic record (2:55.39). The speedster attended Indiana University from 2003-2005, redshirting his freshman year so he could be a member of the IU marching band as a snare drummer. Music is a big part of Neville's life as he has been playing since the fourth grade. He also plays music at his church, the Santa Clarita Christian Fellowship. After returning to the track, he found his way into the IU records book on multiple occasions as he set records for the 200m, 400m, 4x400m relay and the distance medley relay. In addition to the school records, he captured four Big Ten conference titles. After an outstanding career at IU, Neville decided to forgo his senior season so he could sign a professional contract. He did, however, complete his degree in music education and would like to teach music at the middle school or high school level following his track career.

Sincerely,
