Dear
Storm Family,
Congratulations
to all
of the
athletes
who are
scheduled
to run
in the
Western
League
Championship
Meet
this
weekend.
The Meet
will be
at
Simi
Valley
High
School. Medals
will be
awarded
to the
top 6
athletes
of each
event.
Although
the
schedule
remains
the
same,
the
distance
events
may not
be
combined.
All
athletes
should
arrive
to the
meet by
8:00 am,
This is
a
championship
meet,
therefore
no
coaches
or
parents
are
allowed
on the
in-field.
Congratulations
to all
of the
athletes
who
competed
this
past
weekend
in their
final
championship
meet of
the
season.
We will
see you
next at
the
Awards
Picnic
at
Newhall
park on
May
15th.
More
information
will
come on
that
next
week.
Ribbon from
the meet
will be at
the awards
picnic along
with
trophies and
all other
awards,
don't miss
it!!!

This Week's
Track Meet
This
weeks
track
meet
is
at
Simi
Valley
High
School.
It
is
the
Western
League
Championship
Meet,
this
meet
is a
championship
meet
for
all
of
the
athletes
who
are
the
top
of
the
Western
League,
they
are
the
first
heat
of
each
event
in
most
cases.
Medals
for
the
top
6
athletes
will
be
awarded
at
the
meet.
All
others
will
receive
a
nice
championship
ribbon
after
the
meet.
The
top
4
athletes
in
each
event
will
be
invited
to
the
Individual
Event
Championship
Meet
on
May
14th.
Because
the
meet
this
year
is
being
held
on a
10
lane
track,
the
conference
will
invite
the
next
2
best
times
in
the
sprints
to
fill
the
lanes.
The
distance
events
will
take
the
next
4
best
times,
and
the
field
events
will
take
one
extra.
We
will
then
compete
with
the
top
athletes
of
the
Eastern
League
on
May
14th.
In
the
event
that
someone
drops
from
an
event,
the
empty
lanes
or
positions
will
be
filled
by
advancing
the
next
athlete
by
best
marks
from
either
of
the
league
meets.
Please
make
sure
you
let
the
Coaches
know
if
you
will
not
compete
on
May
14th
by
Monday.

you Dinner
In Lieu of gifts
for your coaches
we ask that you

you dinner.

planned for May
22. Our Coaches
have done a phenomenal job
and given
countless hours

athletes.

positions We
need Shot
put workers,
finish line
workers,
Relay
Escorts,
hurdle crew,
and zone
judges!

Championship
Meets Coming Up
Western League
Championship
Meet (May 7th)
All qualified
athletes and a
select few
athletes in the
top of the
league will be
invited to the
Western League
Championship
meet to be held
on May 7th. The
coaches will
attend a seeding
meeting of the
League to
finalize the
seeding of this
championship
meet.
Non-qualified
athletes will
fill any open
positions in any
events by the
top 20 list of
the league. If
you are
interested in
being advanced
to this meet,
please let your
coach know.
Individual Event
Championship
Meet (May 14th)
This is the
final event of
the year at the
conference
level. The top
four (4)
finishers in
each event from
both leagues
(East & West)
and the next
fastest
times/marks will
be invited to
compete in this
Conference wide
Championship
meet to be held
this year at
Valley College
on May 14. This
is a 10 lane
track, so in the
sprint events we
will advance up
to 10 athletes.
The distance
events advance
12 athletes, and
the field events
9. All
advancements to
this meet come
from the meet on
the 7th there
are no
pass-through
athletes, you
must attend the
meet on May 7th.
This is the best
of the
Conference
championship
meet. If you
need more
information
please be sure
to ask your
coach.
Team
Picnic & Awards
- May 15
Will be at
Newhall Park on
Newhall Ave. We
will give you
more details
about this in
the next 2
newsletters.

Boxes
The
communication
boxes will be at
the the Team
awards picnic on
May 15th, please
check them when
you get there.
All athletes
will also
receive a trophy
and other
awards.

Post Season -
Valley United
At the end of
the season there
is an all star
team available
to all league
qualifiers. The
Valley United
Track Team is
the conference
official team
that will go on
to compete at
the national
level.
