Events:
 
Running Events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 4x100m, 4x400m 80m Hurdles,
100m Hurdles
 
Field Events: Running Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump. 
 
 
Track is the one sport that is good training for all sports, whether its Football, Basketball, Soccer, or Baseball, Track & Field will improve your speed, endurance and coordination.

Dear Storm Family,

 
Last week was a very busy week! and as we go into our competing season it will not slow down! It is very important that the athletes get to practice as much as possible. For the next few weeks we will not have the track as much due to events at Saugus High.

 
    PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE NEWSLETTER.
 
This Saturday we will be having our "Mock" meet. This will help parents and athletes learn how the meets will run, and train you in what volunteers we need. All jobs are very easy to learn.  All families are required to volunteer 8 hours during the season so this will be the first opportunity to start your hours.  

 
We will start our on line sign up this week. You will get an email inviting you to sign up by Thursday

Parents please try to arrive 15 minutes early for pick up, in case practice ends early.

Field Events and specialty events have started. If your athletes want to try an event make sure they let their coaches know. All athletes are encouraged to try any event!!
 
Mock Meet
Mock Meet Information - PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS
This weekend is the Mock/Practice Meet, we use this to get a beginning time for all the athletes, but more importantly we use this to train you and our staff on how to run a meet. There are no ribbons or records for this meet, as it is still practice but the results will be posted.

 
Below is a schedule of our mock meet, we won't be able to do all events, but we will try to do as many as we can between 8:00 am - 1:30 pm.

When Athletes arrive go to center of field
Parent go to Stands to find out about Volunteer opportunities & training.

 
We will be using Sign-Up-Genie to help manage our volunteerism. Please use the following link to sign up for volunteering for this meet via sign up genie Click Here to Sign Up - You will also get an email from our sign up genie system later this week. 

 
Be sure your child brings extra water as it's supposed to be very warm. We will not set up a water table for this meet.

 
Make sure your child wears their uniform.

 
Field Event Schedule starting at 8:30
Field Events - Modified Event - 1 measured mark only

 
Long Jump: Sub-Gremlins/Gremlins, Midgets, Youth and Inter., Bantams
High Jump: Bantam, Midget, Youth and Inter.
Shot Put: Youth and Inter., Bantam, Midgets
Running event, we will start with Sub Gremlins and work our way up to youth and Inter.

1500 Meter Run all age groups (some age groups will be combined). 
Hurdles Midget, Youth and Inter
4 X 100 (400 Meter Relay)
Sub Gremlins, Gremlins (if they are still in long jump Bantams will go first), Bantams,  Midgets, Youth & Inter.

 Lap-a-thon  
If you missed the lap a thon, you can still turn in your form and help collect funds.

We are excited about each and every athlete participating in the lap-a-thon. This helps keep our prices low!! Turn in cash or check at practice before April 6th !

Calendar on Website
There is a calendar on our web site that has most of the practice and meet info on it. It is tentative and will be updated weekly. The schools some times make changes so please remember it is subject to change but we will try to keep it updated as much as possible every week.  
 
Jelly Beans & Jolly Ranchers
Jelly Beans Parents we ask that you bring 2 bags of jelly beans or Jolly Ranchers.
 
At the end of each practice we give the kids a few jelly beans as a treat. For the kids with braces, we give them a Jolly Rancher. The kids must be heading out the gate in order to get them.  
 
Twenty-Five Score Cards
STORM's first Fundraiser is here! The 25 Score Card is good at over 1000 merchants throughout SCV and LA including Jersey Mike's, Vincenzo's, Buca Di Beppo, Coldstone, Mountasia, Menchies, Color Me Mine, Office Max and so many more plus there's a Mobil app you can download with it too!

 
The cards will be $20 each! We are asking that each family be responsible for 2 cards at least (more if you can).....you can keep one for the family, sell both off, give them away to clients. Whatever is good for your family but we are requiring 2 cards per household.

 
There will be a Board Member at most practices with cards available and Team Roster to confirm your participation throughout the month of March.
