Events:

Running Events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 4x100m, 4x400m 80m Hurdles,

100m Hurdles

Field Events: Running Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump.

Track is the one sport that is good training for all sports, whether its Football, Basketball, Soccer, or Baseball, Track & Field will improve your speed, endurance and coordination.

Wow, what a great Open Championship meet we had on Saturday!! The athletes were awesome and brought home lots of hardware. Congratulations to all the athletes that competed in your last meet of the season. A special shout out to the following athletes that brook meet records:

Madison Cruz - High Jump 4'2" (1992 record)

Calling all STORM Grill Masters

As we prepare for our end of the year awards picnic we have been informed that we will not have the big grill trailer we have used in the past. We are asking for 8 parents to bring their BBQ grills (charcoal or propane) and help us cook!! We need people to bring their grill to Newhall Park at 10:00 am to start the cooking. We will supply all the food and a special Storm Grillers apron.

Lets see who can cook up the best Burgers and dogs.

League Championship Track Meet @ Valencia H.S.

This week we are at Valencia High School. This is a very special championship meet for all athletes that have reached a qualified mark, or have been invited in the top 8 .

There will be medals for the top 6 and special ribbons for all others. The top 4 and best 5th between the Leagues will advance to the Individual Event Championship on May 20th at Oaks Christian School. in Westlake.

Today is the last day to pick up all items Please check the fence today!! I have a huge amount of jackets and pants and some shoes!!

Save the Date - BBQ and Awards Picnic - May 21

End of season BBQ and Awards Banquet. More information will be posted next week, but do mark your calendars for Sunday May 21th for our end of season awards picnic at Newhall Park 11:30 pm.

We need cooks with barbecues, We will be on our own this year, and we need to have some cooks help. If you like to grill, let us know by volunteering to cook at the picnic. We need grills also, if you have a BBQ grill, we will need some people to bring their grills to the BBQ so we can cook all the food and feed everyone.

the volunteer list will be open later this week or simply reply to this email with YES I WANT A STORM GRILL APRON!!

Championship Meets Coming Up May 13th and 20th

Western League Championship Meet (May 13th) All qualified athletes and a select few athletes in the top of the league will be invited to the Western League Championship meet to be held on May 13th. The coaches will attend a seeding meeting of the League to finalize the seeding of this championship meet. Non-qualified athletes will fill any open positions in any events by the top 20 list of the Western league. If you are interested in being advanced to this meet, please let your coach know. Only the top 8 will be invited unless a qualifying mark is made.

Individual Event Championship Meet (May 20th) This is the final event of the year at the conference level. The top four (4) finishers in each event from both leagues (East & West) and the next fastest time/mark will be invited to compete in this Conference wide Championship meet to be held this year at Oak Christian School in West Lake Village on May 20. This is a 9 lane track, so in the sprint events we will advance up to 9 athletes. The distance events advance 12 athletes, and the field events 9. All advancements to this meet come from the meet on the 13th at the Western League meet. There are no pass-through athletes, you must attend the meet on May 13th. This is the best of the Conference championship meet. If you need more information please be sure to ask your coach.

Team Picnic & Awards - May 21 Will be at Newhall Park on Newhall Ave. We will give you more details about this in the next 2 newsletters.
