A Note From Coach Jeremy
Hey team!
Whew, whooshhhhh, fwooohhhh, beep beep.... these are the cartoon sounds of the season just flying by!
Wow, the regular season is over and what a season it was.  I don't want to take too much time right now because we have THE BANQUET this Saturday.  So I'll leave it at this for now, athletes, you did incredible Saturday.  Coaches, you did incredible Saturday.  Parents, thank you!

For the banquet, please check the emails from coach Elaine to know what to do.

I'd like to mix it up this year and dress a little funky.  You like funky right? Ok, so here's my request: girls wear your dresses and get all dolled up like you do, but... wear your running shoes and crazy socks.  Boy's, get all dressed up looking sharp, but, wear your running shoes and a completely non matching tie.  Dig way back in your dad's closet and find something amazing.

I'll be there with you and I might bring a prize for the best- dressed girl and boy!

Post season kids, or if you are on the bubble, we'll see you tonight at central!!
That's it for now,

Thanks again for a great season!
Coach Jeremy
Post Season
Post season competition is our conference wide team called Valley United Striders - We take the top 16-20 athletes and form teams to represent us on a national level of competition. There are 2 qualifier meets to make it to the Junior Olympics Cross Country National Championship meet in Tallahassee Florida on December 9, 2017
The rankings file on our website for the season have been updated. The top 8 - 16 athletes will be invited to participate as the "A" or "B" team for post season competition, this is a top of the conference team, that will represent the Valley Conference as Valley United Striders, we will be filling both "A" & "B" teams. In order to be eligible for "A" team athletes must commit to travel to the national meet to be held in December 9th, in Tallahassee Florida, and both qualifier races. The qualifying races are mandatory also. " B" team members only have to attend the The Association meet which will be held at Arcadia Park on Nov. 12th. The Regional meet will be held in at our Central Park on Nov. 19th.
How the rankings work. the athletes are ranked on their performance by averaging their finish place over the season. If an athlete has ran all races their worse finish place will be removed, and their average will be based on the best of 6 races. (there were 7 total). In some cases for the last 2 position the conference will vote if the athletes are very close.
If your child is ranked in the top 20, Please let Elaine know if you are interested in post season competition and come to practice tonight for a parent meeting!!
It is very possible for our "A" & "B" teams to be advanced to the national competition. We are a very strong team.
