Track & Field 2018 Season

Greetings!

We are so excited for the start of our 2018 Season. Tomorrow Tuesday Feb 6th we will have our parent orientation! See details below. If you did not turn in your birth certificate with your paper work please bring it to the meeting
 
We will have most uniforms available.
 
Fleet Feet will also have training shoes and spikes for sell.
 
Our Storm Store is now open. You can order and pay on line if you would like to buy any of our spirit merchandise. It will be delivered either at the parent meeting or at practice. We will also be adding a new warm up suit. You can click on the store from our website to place orders. The Store will be open until March 10th for orders.

First Practice
Our first practice will be this Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 8:00 am at Saugus High School!
 
We are waiting to receive our final permits from the high schools and hope to update soon about all practice nights and locations.  
Important Dates
Parent meeting - Tuesday February 6, 2018 – Rio Norte Jr High School 5:45 Gremlins – 7:00 pm All Others. This is a very important information meeting for all parents! Please bring any remaining birth certificates and missing paperwork!!
 
First day of Practice -Saturday February 10, 2018 at 8:00 am – Saugus High School
 
Practice Days - Practice will be generally be 4 days a week mostly at Saugus or Canyon, or other local High Schools and Distance will have some practices at Central park.
 
Monday, Tuesday,(distance only) Wednesday,(sprint only), and Thursday at 6:00 pm - 7:45 pm and Saturday 8:00 - 9:30 am
 
Tuesdays are distance only, and Wednesdays are Sprint and field event only. You can choose any 2 days or all 4 days, but the more you attend the more successful your child will be. There will be some weeks that we will only have practice 1 or 2 days as the schools will not be available for us.
 
Track Meets Start March 10 , 2018 - and are every Saturday, There is a 2 day meet on April 7 & 8 2018. Regular season Meets run until April 21, 2018
 
Western Open Final Meet – April 28, 2018
Western Championship Meet – May 5, 2018
Individual Event Championship Meet (IECs) May 12, 2018

Please make sure to watch this news letter and our calendar for updates. We are still waiting on our practice schedule and will update as soon as the schools confirm.

L.A. 84 Coaches Training Clinic

The VYC is hosting a LA 84 free clinic on Feb 11th at Birmingham High School!!
 
This is a fabulous day to learn relays, sprints, distance, field events, and hone in you skills on all levels All coaches should attend!! Parents are welcome too.

Parent Meeting
We will have our Parent Meeting this Tuesday, February 6th @ Rio Norte Junior High School. All Parents should attend. We will have Fleet Feet shoe store and our Storm Merchandise at the meeting. Uniforms will also be available in most sizes.
 
5:45 Parents of Gremlin age group athletes
 
7:00 Parents of all other age groups.
 
We would like the parents of the Gremlins to attend the 5:45 meeting, you may bring older siblings to this meeting.
 
You are welcome to attend either meeting if you have a scheduling conflict.
